Accommodations

NewFound Outfitting has two properties. One is nestled in the heart of the Serpentine River Valley area. Untouched country for miles in each direction, you feel the wilderness around you, not the crowding of traditional popular campsites or many easy access lodges. Wake up in the morning with the river running by your doorstep, and the local wildlife going about their daily business. It’s that simple! The main lodge has a cozy and inviting sitting area where many a fish tale has been told. Here, delightful aromas from the kitchen fill the air. There is nothing like the smell of homemade bread baking in the oven. When in season, we offer scallop, shrimp and lobster from local fishermen, ensuring freshness and quality. Add a steak to these scrumptious dishes and you will have a meal fit for a king. If you prefer to partake in more local cuisine, you can enjoy traditional Newfoundland meals such as fish and brewis or Jigg’s dinner. These hardy meals are good for the soul and great after a long day’s journey. This is a must for those who are curious about Newfoundland and Labrador heritage and tradition. There are two bedrooms each with private bath attached to the main lodge. And our new cottage is just steps away. Overlooking the majestic Appalachian Mountains, this cottage has 3 bedrooms each with their own private bath. Our footprint on the environment is important to us at NewFound Outfitting. The recent solar power addition at this location enables you to hear the music of the river and enjoy the solitude our wilderness location offers.South West Lake is the home of our other lodge used for hunting. The rustic and comfortable lodge has indoor washrooms, open living area and 4 bedrooms. Many hunters enjoy sitting on the deck overlooking the lake and sharing stories of their days hunt. Delicious smells from the kitchen fill the air – our meals have a reputation all of their own! We are proud of our recent upgrade to solar power at this location as well – at NewFound Outfitting, we do all we can to look after the environment which we operate in.
